Campo do Eirado Viewpoint
This viewpoint has an original design, created with families in mind. Located at 1,166 metres in elevation, it features three gigantic chairs that allude to the story of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears”. It offers a great opportunity to get a look at the interior areas of Ribeira Sacra.
From here you can see from Spain to Portugal, including the mythical "Raiña Loba Rock", and from the O Leboreiro to A Martiñá mountain ranges, passing over the historic hot springs in the city of Ourense. Standing on the giant chairs will also help extend your view even further.
The viewpoint is located on the (unofficial) "Sil Canyon Gateway hiking route"
ACCESS TO THE VIEWPOINT (by car): from the highway that runs between the municipalities of Xunqueira de Espadanedo and Parada de Sil (OU-0604), when you reach the ridge that separates those two municipalities, turn left onto the road that leads to the wind farm, until you get to the point whether the path to the viewpoint begins. You will see a sign there indicating the direction of the viewpoint. The road also goes past a historic stone “freezer” pit located to the right, in a forest of birch and hollies. This viewpoint is located at a high point that allows you to see a good portion of the province of Ourense.
