Chappel of Ecce Homo

Churches/Chapels

It is dated from the 17th century. The building was built in masonry slate. It has a t-shape plan. It consists of a rectangular nave with wooden roof gable with a side chapel that is attached to the nave by a semicircular arch. The chancel has a wooden hipped roof. It is joined by a round triumphal arch. The sacristy is at the front.

It preserves images of Santiago Pilgrim, Ecce Homo, Ecce Homo of the processions and Immaculate Conception, works from the end of the 18th century.

We leave from the town hall of Bóveda, which is located in the avenue “Avenida de Alfonso XII” and we have to take the road towards Lugo. In just five minutes we will reach Rubián, one of the main parishes of the town council. We can see the Chapel on the right, next to the square.

The main facade is made of granite. The gate has a semicircular arch on which a niche houses a stone sculpture of Ecce Homo. It crowns the façade a small bell tower with four openings. On the north side, there is a door. On the lintel the founding inscription reads: "This chapel was done of alms being VICAR Mr. DIEGO GUITIAN year of 1782".
