Sacra Festival

The organizazer of the Sacra Festival consider culture in general as a privileged environment to favor social progress. From this perspective, art and culture should be understood as vital factors in the construction and strengthening of both social and community ties as well as individual and personal identity. They also consider that this is a transformative initiative and an exercise of responsibility, to put in the hands of all audiences a selection of artists seeking channels of communication with the natural space, in this case, a place where oenology is a point essential to keep in mind.

The shows will be free in order to make all kinds of people, without depending on their economic class, participate in this event, where the landscape is vital to shape a meeting between artists and the public. The organizers qualify that all the proposals chosen adapt to the natural space and in some cases, to interior spaces, integrated into the landscape such as abandoned houses or churches located in the middle of the Ribeira Sacra del Miño. Platforms, initiatives and tools with which to communicate and, in turn, put in the hands of the public a series of visual, literary and scenic representations with which to understand the reality and the perception of the / the creators / las and the relationship with nature. In the case of outdoor tastings, the importance of this landscape around the world of wine, both ecological and different wineries already recognized nationally and internationally.

It is for all this that the Sacra Festival is a multifaceted and integral event, a program of exhibitions and performing arts, a sequence of formative experiences and a publication, from which to engage in dialogues and complicities with organizations, institutions and people, in order to promote a greater knowledge of the identity of each of the artists and of the communities, as in the case of the three community proposals and social inclusion, as well as a small section dedicated to the children.
