XXIII Rosca Fair and II Wine Tunnel
The town of Sober organizes on August 11 and 12 the XXIII Rosca Fair, honey and other products of the Ribeira Sacra. A total of 16 positions will participate: 3 "rosqueiros", 2 potters from Gundivós, 2 honey producers, 4 artisans, 3 cheese factories and 2 artisan chestnut producers and by-products.
Programming
The party begins on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the meeting room of the Sociocultural Center with a showcooking by Carlos Javier González, chef of the Restaurant Merenzao under the name 'La Rosca de Sober in the restaurant'.
The opening of the stalls will take place at 9:00 p.m. and at 10:00 p.m., the group 'Va en concierto' will perform. At 23:00 hours there will be a free tasting of 'rosca' with coffee liquor and honey.
On Sunday at 10:00 a.m. there will be a shot of fireworks and at 10:15 a.m. they will open the stalls of the fair. At 10:30 a.m. there will be a demonstration of basketmaking with the collaboration of the CENTRAD of the Diputación de Lugo.
At 12:00 a.m. there will be a street theater show: 'Duncan de Palleiro'. At 12:30 a.m. there will be a performance by the traditional music group 'Los Valuros' and at 1:00 p.m. it will be the turn of the free tasting of 2,000 portions of 'rosca' with cheese.
At 14:30 p.m., again a performance of the traditional music group 'Los Valuros'.
Second Wine Tunnel
Taking advantage of the celebration of the XXIII Thread Fair, Sober City Council and Vinosacra.es organize the Second Amandi Wine Tunnel, an event in which to taste the wines of the Amandi and Sober sub-area. The tunnel will be inaugurated on Saturday at 11:30 a.m.
There will be more than 30 wineries that participated with more than 50 references. A unique opportunity to get to know the wines of Amandi and Sober by professional sommeliers.
The tent of the wine tunnel will be open on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Coinciding with this festivity, the first Poultry Fair is held in the town.
