"Reforesting: Calystegia sepium, the trumpet vine" Mural

This mural is a botanical composition inspired by the plant Calystegia sepium, which is a vine that can be found growing on walls in various parts of Ribeira Sacra. It is notable for its arrow-shaped leaves and large, pure white flowers.

One of its common names in Spanish is “Hierba de los ringorrangos”, which alludes to the exaggerated showiness of its flowers. In English this plant is often referred to as the trumpet vine, an obvious reference to the shape of those flowers.

The mural is painted on the side of the Casa del Cultura (House of Culture), and it is visible from the Convent of San Salvador de Ferreira.
