"A Erosa Rock" Mural
The geological term for rock formations of this type is “balancing rocks”, and they are usually found in areas with an abundance of granite.
The traditional local legends say that there was a mythical being known as a moura who was carrying this stone on her head. Suddenly she was being chased, and in order to escape she dropped the stone in this location.
This mural was created by Doa Oa in 2016, as part of the project "A Touch of Colour in Ribeira Sacra".
