Church of Santa María de Melias

Its construction dates back to the 16th-18th centuries. It therefore retains Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque vestiges. It has three naves, the central one being higher and wider than the lateral ones.
The baroque façade of the church consists of three vertical sections, but unlike other churches of the same period, this one only has a single tower. The doorways in the central body are flanked by a moulding surmounted by two pilasters. There is an image adorning the architraved cornice crowning the doorways.
The two symmetrical side sections are framed by wide, recessed pilasters with arches of low relief.
The tower comprises three sections, the first consisting of four openings with semi-circular arches, flanked by pilasters replicating the lines and rhythms of the façade; the second is very similar but smaller, and the third consists of a drum and cupola.
The Carmen chapel inside the church contains an impressive 18th century Baroque altarpiece distinguished by its outstanding artistic quality.
