Jupiter and Juno (Legend)

The god Jupiter was fascinated with the beautiful land of Galicia, and he became determined to possess it. He therefore caused a river to cut across it, the Miño.
His wife, the goddess Juno, found out about his plan, and she didn’t want to share his love with this foreign place. To draw Jupiter away from her beautiful rival, she caused a deep wound to open up in its sublime appearance. Her hatred was so strong that the wound continued to deepen even further than anyone would anticipate, and this is what created the Sil Canyon as we see it today.
