Nosa Señora da Antiga College Picture Gallery
A small room, originally a sacristy, holds a small but important ART collection. Its two jewels are paintings by El Greco: the “Appearance of the Virgin and Child to Saint Lawrence or Saint Francis” and “Fray León meditating on death”, which are accompanied by five panels by Andrea del Sarto of Saint Peter, Saint John the Baptist, Saint Ines, Saint Margaret and Saint Catherine.
Other objects of great historical value belonging to the Cardinal are on exhibition, including two oil paintings of the Compostelan school, entitled “The Final Judgement” and “Death”, and a portrait of Cardinal Rodrigo de Castro by Francisco Pacheco.
