Pena do Conde/A Barca Viewpoint
This is Ribeira Sacra’s first viewpoint installed along the Cabe River canyon. It is found in the location known as A Pena do Conde, very close to A Barca de Santo Estevo. Previously this location was largely overlooked in Ribeira Sacra, although it is one of great beauty.
The viewpoint provides vistas over the location where the Cabe River flows into the Sil River. The Monastery of Santo Estevo de Ribas de Sil can also be seen from here, along with the Santo Estevo railway station, at the border between the provinces of Lugo and Ourense.
The viewpoints located in the municipality of Sober, including this one, have been awarded the quality seal granted by the Spanish Institute of Tourism Quality (ICTE). Up until the year 2021, only five public spaces of this type had obtained that distinction in all of Spain.
