"A embelesadora" route
A route to be followed at the pace and manner of each person's choice. It is certainly a good and simple formula that oxygenates and revitalizes; an invitation to let nature heal you in a calm and joyful way; to enjoy the affection and tenderness of people; relearning together the richness of the paths, both those going and those returning.
Of just over 10 kilometers, the Embelesadora route runs through the Taboadese parishes of San Miguel de Vilela and Santiago de Sobrecedo.
In them, a good part of the elements of the natural and cultural landscape that the south of Lugo treasures are combined, constituting an authentic monument to the harmonious interaction between the environment and the community that inhabits it, between humanity and nature.
The Embelesadora is made up of a sensory route in which, above all, it is important to contemplate, smell, touch, taste and listen.
The first section of this path leads to the encounter with the Miño River. It does so by passing through small villages and places, farms, orchards, groves and oak groves, some mountain areas covered with pine, gorse and broom.
Next to the river it is worth stopping to contemplate and enjoy the spectacular landscape made up of sky, water and land. Land where over the centuries the knowledge, creativity and hands of the people were the ones who composed with “muras”, vineyards and wineries such a splendid tapestry.
Pure craftsmanship that changes colors and textures at every moment!
In addition to admiring the vineyards that extend along the two banks, and if the water level in the reservoir allows it, you can see Castro Candaz, a legendary enclave that today remains submerged for long periods under the deep waters of the reservoir, emerging only on rare occasions, like a bewitching and magical fortress.
On the way back, the route leaves the vineyards behind and, after passing through the towns of Sobrecedo de Abaixo and Arriba, descends between meadows and farms to reach Rioseco and from there to Vilar, the starting and finishing point of the Embelesadora.
Walking it at the pace and in the way that each person deems appropriate is, without a doubt, a good and simple formula that oxygenates and revitalizes; an invitation to let oneself be healed by nature in a calm and joyful way; to enjoy the affection and tenderness of people; relearning together the richness of the paths, those going and those coming back.
