Campodola Geological Viewpoint

This area has great geological value as it consists of a unique geological formation of scientific interest that has been preserved almost intact since the Lower Carboniferous period.

Because of erosion and the canyonization of the river Ferreiriño, the geological process that caused this fold can be seen very clearly, as its internal structure has been exposed by a huge transversal cut.

Because the earth and plant cover are gone, the geological phenomena that formed it can clearly be seen today. All told, it is a natural spectacle that can be compared with very few places on the European continent.
