A Casa da Memoria
A Casa da Memoria (formerly known as Casa de Peña) is a former pharmacist's house with more than 150 years of history. Its construction, servants’ quarters, wine cellar, furniture, legacy of healing and helping the poor, and historical significance as the last refuge of Manuel Díaz González (‘O Pequeniño do Incio’), make this house a unique place converted into a space for artistic creation and dissemination, a place to rescue heritage and history, and also personal care and wellbeing.
The non-profit association ‘A Memoria é Náufraga’ organises the activities held at A Casa da Memoria (the Association's headquarters) and thus promotes it as a venue for cultural creation and social interaction, a creative space where the preservation of our history and artistic-cultural heritage coexist with the most avant-garde artistic expressions. A place where educational, training, informative, awareness-raising, reflection and debate activities are carried out around our main areas of interest and action: Culture, Art, Education, History, Knowledge, Health, Awareness, Solidarity and the Environment.
