Church of Santa María de Camporramiro
This 12th century Romanesque church is particularly noteworthy for the harmony of its elements and the beauty of its lines.
The church has kept its original structure, except for its 18th-century sacristy and 20th-century bell tower. The main door has a rounded arch with a double-arched archivolt, braided capitals and jambs with human faces.
Legend has it that the name of Camporramiro comes from a victory by King Ramiro I over the Normans in the 9th century, in this same place.
Don't miss!
Close to this church is the town of Chantada, where we can visit its Tourist Office. We also recommend visiting the nearby Líncora viewpoint, which offers fine panoramic views over the river Miño.
