Cacharreiros Trade Fair at Niñodaguia

Renowned not only for its pottery tradition but also its impact on traditional pottery-making, the village of Niñodaguia also serves as an annual meeting point for professionals and enthusiasts of this art form every year in mid-August.

The pottery museum-workshop is the backbone of the scheduled activities, and Niñodaguia serves as the epicentre for the promotion and revitalisation of pottery, with exhibitions of some of the masters who have preserved the tradition, adapting the techniques and styles to the new times.

Created for the purpose of sparking interest in the event’s attendees from a perspective of protection and admiration for this trade, which has almost disappeared, the success of the Cacharreiros trade fair can be seen in the numerous consecutive editions held over the last decade.
