Annual Festival/Feast of Saint Isidore (Paradela)

Every 15 May, Paradela holds a special annual festival (simply known as Feria de Año) in honour of Saint Isidore (San Isidro), patron saint of farmers and rural communities.

This festival, in which events take place throughout the day, preserves the traditional elements of rural festivals, with parades by the band, mass in honour of the patron saint, orchestra..., but it is also a special day in which the traditional agricultural world, its customs and traditions are honoured.

There is a large livestock fair, with exhibitions of bulls and other animals, parades of horses and carts, exhibitions of old and modern machinery, handicrafts... and, as in any traditional festival, the delicious local fare is a must! In the evening, grilled veal with D.O. Ribeira Sacra wine for all the attendees.
