Penadominga Hill Fortification

Archeological sites

The Castro culture site of Penadominga is built on a spur of schist rock, and it has a layout identical to those seen in many similar sites in the local area.

It dates to between the 4th and 5th centuries A.D., and it is distributed across two spaces: a residential area to the west, and a defensive system to the east.

This archaeological site can only be reached by walking approximately 6 kilometres from the village of Bendollo, along a marked trail. We recommend that you should ask about the condition of the access routes by contacting Quiroga Municipal Hall (982 42 80 01) or the Quiroga Tourism Office (982 435 125).
