MTB - Os Torgais

An easy, nine-kilometre circular route which tours the area surrounding the village of Parada de Sil. We will also visit one of the most iconic viewpoints in the Ribeira Sacra.
This is the MTB Centre's easiest route. Starting from the Town Hall building in Parada de Sil, we will set off down a beautiful pathway running through chestnut trees and stone walls, in the direction of Fondo de Vila. We will see an old foxo do lobo - a historical construction used to trap wolves - very close to the famous Balcones de Madrid viewpoint, also known as Os Torgais.
From there, we make our way down a traditional stony path towards Portela. We then take a steep tarmac track up to San Antonio chapel and continue along a dirt track under a canopy of oak trees, until we reach the end of the route in Parada de Sil.
Don't miss!
We recommend visiting the nearby Santa Cristina monastery: a must-see in the Ribeira Sacra. It can be reached by car or bicycle down a tarmac track.
