MTB - A Teixeira Circular

The trail starts in the woods of A Carosa mountain until Cristosende, a privileged vista in exceptional surroundings. This will take you into the first valley, the Mao Valley, descending through vineyards and overlooking the famous Mao River walkways, a 1.8-kilometre-long wooden walkway worth the every step of the way. From the trail, follow the 2-kilometre signposted link to the ‘Fábrica da Luz’, the starting point of this spectacular walkway and the Fábrica da Luz MTB path. This begins an ascent parallel to the Sil River Canyon with views of its famous terraced vineyards all the way until Portela. The cycling path continues through the Abeleda Valley, where the rich history of wine-growing merges seamlessly into a stunning landscape. The final kilometres of the journey afford a view of the village of Castro Caldelas with its famous castle in the backdrop, before returning to A Teixeira.
