Fervenza da Pedriña

Natural areas

Set at the main access to the eastern part of the Courel Mountains, nearby the village of Outeiro.

The Quiroga River feeds this marvellous waterfall, which drops approximately 12 metres into a wide basin in the middle of the surrounding mountainous riverside forest. The waterfall dazzles in winter, while in the summer, the sunlight casts vibrant hues reminiscent of tropical seas, though this phenomenon is unrelated to the water's temperature.

You’ll need to walk to get to this waterfall. From the Outeiro junction, drive 600 metres towards Vilarbacú, park and continue another 900 metres on foot (always going downhill) until you reach the waterfall. CAUTION in winter and rainy seasons. Before you go, we recommend first checking the conditions of the paths by calling the Quiroga Town Hall (982 42 80 01) or the Quiroga Tourist Office (982 435 125). Please be extremely careful when approaching the waterfall; it is a very slippery area.
