Cabezoás Viewpoint
Cabezoás is one of the most popular viewpoints in the Ribeira Sacra, which indicates its importance in an area characterised by the number and quality of its viewing points.
The viewpoint is by the side of the road, facing the meander known as the Coto das Boedas, an impressive granite block over 700 metres high that drops vertically into the river for over 400 metres. It is one of the deepest spots in the Sil Canyon. From this viewpoint you can see the last meander in the river Sil in Parada de Sil before it flows on to Nogueira de Ramuín. The opposite bank belongs to the municipality of Sober.
Cabezoás has a wooden walkway and a platform that accentuates the breathtaking view of the river, which is surrounded by local vegetation, including chestnut and oak trees and heather.
