San Mateo Romería
Held in the parish of A Parte (Monforte de Lemos), this is one of the final events in the summer festival calendar.
After the early parish church services, the congregation meets for a social gathering with vermouth. People from neighbouring towns join local Monfortinos in song and dance to the sound of traditional orchestras while preparing for the feasting with friends and families.
This deeply-rooted local tradition is a must for Monfort residents and has been celebrated without interruption since the Spanish Civil War.
