Val do Medo Viewpoint

Viewpoints

Built in the form of Galicia’s largest wooden bench, this viewpoint looks out over the town of Xunqueira de Espadanedo, which is the location of the Cistercian Monastery of Santa María de Xunqueira de Espadanedo. The church at that monastery is one of the best examples of transitional Romanesque architecture in the province of Ourense.

This viewpoint presents a perfect panoramic view of Meda Mountain and the surrounding areas, from the O Laruoco and Suído mountains to the Xurés mountain range shared by Spain and Portugal.

The viewpoint is located on the (unofficial) "Sil Canyon Gateway hiking route"

ACCESS TO THE VIEWPOINT (by car): from the point on OU-536 known as Alto do Rodicio, follow the road that exits to the left (OU-651), which leads to the Meda Mountain Antennae Centre (Centro Emisor del Monte Meda). Just after kilometre 3 there is space on the side of the road where you can park your car. There is also a sign indicating the path to the viewpoint.

Don't miss!
